Common Signs To Def Jam

In preparation for his project Nobody Smiling, its seems that Rap legend Common has found a new home. According to RR, the Chicago MC has just signed with No I.D.'s Def Jam based label, Artium. 

No I.D. speaks:

“Common and I have a long history of making great music together. His rich legacy and robust talent are perfect addictions to the Def Jam family. It’s particularly significant that he’s coming under our roof for his 10^th album as a matured artist and cultural ambassador. It’s a tremendous boost for the spirit of Def Jam as well as the world of hip hop.” 

It's reported No I.D. will also serve as the exec. producer of Common's new LP, which drops July 22.
