This big event is called "Bulls Fest" and it's set to bring full of excitement for families, which includes hoop games, arts, beats, and plenty of food to eat and drink.  According to the event's  official site , "Bulls Fest" will take place outside the United Center, on the City's Westside, and it's scheduled for the 3rd and 4th of September and it's presented by AT&T. After a long tiresome year of being stuck at home, due to the pandemic, the City of Chicago is back open and you know what that means, some of your favorite Summer activities are back in town. That's right! It's true! Chicago is back open, and in celebration, the City is giving away 1,200 single-day passes to Lollapalooza (one of the largest Summer events that takes place in Grant Park).  This year, the four-day music festival will be held July 29th to August 1st and passes have been donated by the organizers for vaccinated Chicagoans and passes will also be distributed to those who make a special appointment at select City vaccination sites, according to press release on yesterday. Weeks after being released from the hospital for COVID-19, R&B singer Jeremih sits down for his first face-to-face interview. During his discussion, the Chicago artist talks with WGCI Morning Show host Kendra G about his near-death experience with COVID, explains why he still wears his bracelet from the hospital and says he's not sure if he wants to take the vaccine. After facing a near-death with COVID, R&B singer Jeremih is out of the hospital. According to TMZ , the Chicago native has been released from Northwestern Hospital and he's back at home recovering. "First and foremost, I would like to thank God and the incredible team of doctors and nurses at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for saving my life," said Jeremih.  The R&B singer also goes on to share, "I would also like to thank my family and friends for all their prayers and well wishes. I'm overwhelmed with gratitude. A special thank to Chance The Rapper, 50 Cent, and Diddy for their love and support." Seem like Jeremih has a lot to be thankful for and we will continue to pray for him as he recovers.

 Just in time for the holidays, Chance The Rapper's Social Works foundation is set to host a free turkey giveaway. Chance made the announcement last night during his appearance on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show and it's set to take place at several locations on Nov. 23 and 24 in Chicago.  "This year is our first ever Turkey Giveaway!" said Social Works. "Please help us spread the word and if you're in need of a turkey...come through!" We're told it's a total of 250 turkeys will be given away at each location so you may want to get there early to beat the crowd. Just a week after the release of his new album Welcome To O-Block , King Von has passed away. The Chicago rapper, who real name is Dayvon Bennett, was among three people who were killed in a shooting involving police outside of Monaco Hookah Lounge in Atlanta, GA on Friday morning. According to reports , the incident started about 3:20 a.m. when gunfire exchanged between two groups of males who had been arguing outside of the club on 255 W. Trinity Avenue.  It's also reported two off-duty officers in uniform was working at the club, along with with an on-duty cop working nearby. It states the cops confronted the groups and fired shots as well.  Right now, it's unclear if King Von was killed by the officers gunfire or the initial confrontation that took place between the two male groups. When you think of the United Center, many think of going to see the Chicago Bulls or going to see their favorite artists in concert; but on Election Day, the arena will be used as a super site to vote.  The exciting news broke today when the Chicago Board of Elections announced their partnership with the United Center, which will be the first time utilizing the facility to vote in the arena's history. "We are proud to partner with the United Center to make voting even easier for Chicagoans on Election Day," said Chicago Board of Election Chairwoman Marisel Hernandez. If the year wasn't already worst, Lollapalooza cancels their annual music festival due to COVID-19. The summer event, which takes place in Chicago's Grant Park, broke the news today on their site. "We wish we could bring Lollapalooza to Grant Park again this year, but we understand why things can't move forward as planned," Lolla said on their site. "The health and safety of our fans, artists, partners, staff and community is always our highest priority." In spite of this year's cancellation, Lolla have assured fans and concert-goers they will be working hard to return in 2021. In the meantime, Lollapalooza plans to give fans a virtual livestream experience, which is set to take place later this summer. The lineup for this event will be announced next month, according to the festival site.

Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd have all recently lost their lives due to senseless deaths; but people like Kanye West are letting the families know they are not alone. According to TMZ , the Jesus Is King rapper has donated $2 million to help with their legal team and other causes. It's also reported, Kanye set up a 529 college saving fund to fully cover tuition for Floyd's 6-year-old daughter Gianna, in addition to reaching back to his hometown Chicago to help several black-owned businesses effected by recent riots. Meanwhile, all 4 officers involved in the killing of George Floyd in Minnesota have now been charged with 2nd degree murder. 

Since the release of the first episode, back in April, Michael Jordan and The Last Dance  docuseries has been the most talked about topic in the streets; however, some people don't seem to be pleased. In a recent interview with Fox Sports Chris Broussard and Rob Parker, Ex-Bulls player Craig Hodges explains his discontent for the ESPN's series along with criticizing former teammate Michael Jordan. "So I'm watching the first episode and I was upset about the 'cocaine circus.' That bothered me because I was thinking about the brothers who are on that picture with you (referring to MJ)," said Hodges.  The former Bulls player also talked about a number of other things, including why he was bothered with MJ accusing Horace Grant for giving insight info for the Jordan Rules , written by Sam Smith. Fresh off the heals of Forbes announcing him a billionaire, Kanye West buys his childhood house in Chicago for $225,000. According to WGN , it's no word on what he plans to do with the place but it does indicate he's taken out Permits to renovate the property and he faces up to $60,000 in repairs.  Watch the video below for the full story...

Giving back to his hometown Chicago, rap legend Twista teams up with State Rep La Shawn Ford for the  Mask Up And Live  campaign. The new initiative kicked off today at Creative Salon on the West Side and it was created to help the community wear their masks to stop the spread of COVID-19. "I wanted to be apart of it because I know that when people see celebrities like me wearing a mask, they know that it's serious" Twista told the News via Facetime.  State Rep La Shawn Ford also added, "We intend to get masks out to those that don't have access to them in the black communities. We are coming together to do the right thing and save lives." Since the passing of Kobe Bryant hit the News, it's been a hard pill to swallow for NBA fans across the world. The NBA legend was pronounced dead, this past Sunday, when his helicopter crashed in Calabasas, CA killing him, his daughter Gianna, and 7 other passengers who were found on board. On today, Nike and the NBA released a statement and shared how they will honor the NBA legend. "The 2020 NBA All-Star uniforms will pay tribute to the late Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and their seven friends and teammates who tragically passed away in last Sunday's helicopter accident. The 2020 NBA All-Star Game will feature Team LeBron (James) wearing the No. 2 and Team Giannis (Antetokounmpo) wearing the No. 24 - Gianna and Kobe's basketball jersey numbers, respectively." The statement also adds, "both teams will wear jersey patches displaying nine stars, representing those who lost their lives in the crash, including John, Keri and Alyssa Altobelli...

For the first time since 1988, the NBA will host All-star Weekend in the City of Chicago and they're including some hometown heros. According to the NBA's social media account, fans will see special performances from hip hop vet Common, Chance The Rapper, and his little brother Taylor Bennett. It's reported , Common will introduce the All-star roster to the floor before the game, while Chance The Rapper performs the evening's halftime show, singing some of his biggest hits with guests. Taylor Bennett will perform halftime on February 14th at the Rising-Stars Game and he will also serve as an All-star ambassador, with his brother Chance, to engage with fans and other programs. Just weeks before hitting the road, Chance The Rapper has decided to cancel dates for the Big Tour and this comes as no surprise for fans. If you remember, back in September, Chance postponed his tour to be with family and judging by his statement he posted this week, this maybe a similar case.  "I know it sucks and its been a lot of back and forth with reschedules and rerouting, but it's for the best. I'm gonna take this time to be with family, make some new music and develop my best show to date," said Chance.  He also went on to say, "I promise to come back much stronger and better in 2020 and hope to see some of you guys there." Just when his music career was about to take off, JUICE WRLD has passed away at the young age of 21. According to TMZ , the rapper had just landed into Chicago from a flight out of California and seemed to have suffered from a seizure, while walking through Midway Airport. It's also reported , the rapper - who real name is Jarad Anthony Higgins - was still conscious when he was rushed to the hospital; however, he passed away a short-time afterwards. His cause of death is unclear at this time. We will keep you updated as this story develops... 

Five days before he's set to go on tour, Chance The Rapper has postponed in order to spend time with family. The Chicago rapper broke the news today, as he took to social media to share with fans. "I thought it over for the past week and I've decided to push back my tour. This year has been one of the greatest of my life; Marriage, new baby, first album etc. But with it being so eventful it has also been very strenuous having to divide my time and energy between family work." Chance also went on to apologize to his fans by saying, "I know how many people were counting on seeing me soon, but I hope you'll understand and forgive me in time. Tour kicks off Jan. 15th." Just in time for Mother's Day, Kim Kardashin and Kanye West welcome a new baby boy. According to our  source , the baby was born Thursday (5/9) via surrogate and came out weighing 6 lbs. and 9 oz. Kim took to social media earlier today sharing with her followers, "He's here and he's perfect!" She continued, "He's also Chicago's twin lol I'm sure he will change a lot but now he looks just like her." As for now, we don't have a name for the child; however, the new bundle of joy becomes Kim and Kanye fourth child following North, Saint, and Chicago. We'll keep you updated with more details.
