Twista Teams Up With State Rep for "Mask Up And Live" Campaign To Fight COVID-19
Giving back to his hometown Chicago, rap legend Twista teams up with State Rep La Shawn Ford for the Mask Up And Live campaign. The new initiative kicked off today at Creative Salon on the West Side and it was created to help the community wear their masks to stop the spread of COVID-19.
"I wanted to be apart of it because I know that when people see celebrities like me wearing a mask, they know that it's serious" Twista told the News via Facetime.
State Rep La Shawn Ford also added, "We intend to get masks out to those that don't have access to them in the black communities. We are coming together to do the right thing and save lives."
Meanwhile, 70% of Chicago's COVID-19 deaths are in the African American community, who only make up just a third of the city's population.
