Over 25 years ago,  Legendary rapper Rakim  blessed the world with his distinctive flow and rhymes, when he dropped his iconic album "Paid In Full." Now its 2013, and the rapper, we know as the "God MC," is still doing his thing.  Last night, the legendary rapper stopped in Chicago for an amazing one night performance. The event took place at The Shrine and he had the whole crowd going nuts, while  DJ 33 1/3 supplied and orchestrated his hip hop classics.

Thirty years ago today, at the age of 24, the "King of Pop" Michael Jackson released the best-selling album of all time - Thriller .  This album set the bar and influenced many Pop artist today with hits like "Billie Jean," "Beat It," "PYT," and more. According to Billboard's Steve Greenberg , the album broke down racial barriers and changed the way America viewed music.

Def Squad Turn Up Chicago With Hip Hop Legends At Shrine

Last night (November 16), was big for Chicago's hip hop community! On one side of town, you had movers and shakers attending a huge event called "Big Jam" starring Rick Ross, but on the other side of town, you had party goers attending another event filled with real hip hop legends. You know them as "Def Squad" and they had the Shrine turned up!

Lookout World! We just learned some exciting news from our friends at WGCI (#1 Station for Hip Hop and R&B)! We hear they just added Superstar singer Usher Raymond to their highly anticipated event of the year - #BIGJAM2012. For those who don't know, this event is scheduled to take place Friday November 16, at the Allstate Arena and it features some of the biggest names in music which include: Rick Ross, Future, Keyshia Cole, Kelly Rowland and more. Scarface Honored By Core DJ's at 'Mix Show Live' in Dallas

When it comes to Hip Hop,  we all know Down South artist like T.I., Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne are running the game; however, that may not have been possible if legends like Scarface of Geto Boys. This past weekend, Scarface was shown how much his contribution and hard work meant to the hip hop community. He was presented with a prestigious award by the Core DJ Organization during the finale of "Mix Show Live 2012." The event took place at Beamers in Dallas, TX and it was hosted by the Core DJ's CEO Tony Neal.

Guess What Legend Stopped By WGCI For St. Patrick's Day?

When it comes to St. Patrick's Day, people often laugh and joke about finding the little Leprechaun who stands with a pot of gold; unfortunately, this year, nobody wish came true. However, they did find themselves in the presence of another little big man - Hip Hop Legend Bushwick Bill. Bushwick stopped in the Windy City, this past weekend, to work with Chicago's own Soundmaster T and during the time of his visit, he made his way to WGCI to kick it with DJ A-OH. They talked about his new faith in God, him doing another Geto Boys album, and he even spoke on politics and immigration laws. The most hilarious part of the interview was when Bushwick talked about his run-in with Superstar Meagan Good. He mentioned he ran into her, the night before, when she was hosting a party at a local night club in Chicago's South Suburbs. He said his intentions were to come out, have fun, and to show her some love; but when he stepped in the building it seemed that all eyes became ...

Meagan Good Comes To Chicago And Gets Surprised By A Hip Hop Legend

When it comes to making an entrance in a room, nobody does it better than sexy Meagan Good. We caught up with the actress this past Friday, when she showed up in Chicago to co-host a party with R&B singer Verse Simmons. The event took place at Adrianna's and the place was packed. Throughout the night, Meagan captivated her fans with her sexy smile as she took pics with her loyal fans. She also got surprised by another superstar, who was big fan - Bushwick of the Geto Boys. Bushwick told us his reason for being in the city was that he was working with producer Soundmaster T and when he heard that Meagan was in town, he made it his business to come out and show some love. WGCI Joins Community To Pay Tribute To Whitney Houston

This past weekend, Chicago came out to pay their respects to Whitney Houston with a special tribute. The gathering took place at the Harold Washington Cultural Center and it was hosted by WGCI's Tony Sco and V-103's Herb Kent. Throughout the ceremony, the community said their goodbyes by film, signing cards and more. They also had the opportunity to stay and view the funeral of the late singer from a live screening. Afterwards, Houston's fans were still in shock the superstar was gone and passed; however, they were more than happy that they came out to share their fondest memories of the singer during the special tribute.
