LeBron James & Anthony Davis Celebrates Nike's Partnership With Boys & Girls Club of Chicago
After 32 long years, All-star Weekend made it's way back to Chicago and it didn't disappoint at all. Not only did kids get a chance to enjoy great activities, they got the opportunity to see their favorite players as well and 2 of them just happened to be NBA stars Lebron James and Anthony Davis.
This past weekend, both players were spotted at the Boys & Girls Club on the City's West Side and during their visit, they celebrated the renovated facility and the new state-of-the-art basketball court.
Lebron and AD also participated in a panel discussion, which they were joined by fashion designer Virgil Abloh. They talked about the importance of community and why giving back is so important.
"First of all, I think that this space is incredible," said Lebron. "But most importantly it's for these guys right here [referring to the kids] you know it's for the youth."
Meanwhile, we're told the partnership is expected to leave a lasting legacy for the local community. This Spring, the brand will launch the Nike All-star Academy that will challenge participants on-the-court with training and clinics from Nike Master Trainers and experienced coaches. Off-the-court, the Academy will provide club members with exposure to sport-related education topics through workshops and seminars in the area of sport journalism, science and product design to help kids reach their full potential.
