The NBA Gives Sneak Preview of All-star Weekend 2020 In Chicago
It was 1988, when a young Michael Jordan won the Slam Dunk contest during All-star Weekend in Chicago and now 32 years later, the event is back in the City and we got you covered with what to expect.
Today, we went behind the scenes with the NBA and we captured some exciting things to share.
First, we would like to tell you guys about the NBA Crossover, which is an exciting event set to take place at Navy Pier. This event will kickoff Feb. 14 - 16 and it will showcase pop culture at its best.
During this 3 Day event, fans will get the opportunity to experience art, fashion, technology, and get to see live performances from some of their favorite artists, in addition to seeing some NBA legends.
Fans will also have photo opportunities and get a chance to purchase the official All-star uniforms.
Up next, we took a ride to the United Center and learned new details regarding the All-star Game.
We were told, the uniforms worn during the All-star Game will honor Kobe along with his daughter Gigi, and the other passengers who passed with them in a tragic crash in Calabasas on January 26.
Team LeBron will wear the No. 2 to pay tribute to Gigi and Team Giannis will wear No. 24 to pay tribute to Kobe. The NBA will also recognize former Commissioner David Stern who recently passed as well.
Meanwhile, lookout for all the games taking place this weekend. On Friday, Feb. 14th, the Celebrity Game will take place at Wintrust Arena and the Rising Stars Game will follow at the United Center.
The Skills Competition, 3-Point Shoot Out, and Slam Dunk Contest will take place February 15th and All-star Weekend will close out Feb. 16th with the official 2020 All-star Game at the United Center.
