The movie takes place in ATL and it introduces us to Gigi (main character played by Keri Hilson).  Gigi is a single mother, who's been recently divorce, and she finds herself being stuck with bills and trying to make ends meet, which causes her to get involved with the wrong crowd to make money.  Last night, we got a chance to see the film first-hand at a red carpet movie screening in Chicago. The event was packed with fans and we also got a chance to mingle with some of the cast members. Jason Mitchell, who plays the ex-husband of Keri Hilson's character, showed up on the red carpet last night to support the film. In support of their Framing The Future initiative, the Chicago Bulls and their sponsor Zenni Optical partnered with the Chicago Park District today to unveil a refurbished basketball court on the City's Southside. The event took place at Burnside Park and it was filled with supporters of the community. The colorful renovated court featured a Bulls-centric design from local artist Anthony Lewellen and he captivated those in attendance with his artistic display.  After the ribbon cut took place, fans witnessed a shooting-around challenge with local media facing off with Chicago Bulls Ryan Arcidiacono and former NBA champions Toni Kukoc and Randy Brown, which resulted in a donation of more than $10,000 to the Illinois programs of Prevent Blindness.  Those in attendance also got the opportunity to interact with Benny the Bull and got to win awesome prizes before leaving the event. After a long tiresome year of being stuck at home, due to the pandemic, the City of Chicago is back open and you know what that means, some of your favorite Summer activities are back in town. That's right! It's true! Chicago is back open, and in celebration, the City is giving away 1,200 single-day passes to Lollapalooza (one of the largest Summer events that takes place in Grant Park).  This year, the four-day music festival will be held July 29th to August 1st and passes have been donated by the organizers for vaccinated Chicagoans and passes will also be distributed to those who make a special appointment at select City vaccination sites, according to press release on yesterday. While fans impatiently wait for the 3rd installment of his  Lovers Lane album series, R&B singer Josh K put together an exclusive listening party last night in his hometown Chicago. The event took place in the City's West Town area and it was packed with fans, media, and some of your favorite celebrities.  Throughout the night, Josh played a number of songs from his upcoming project and it included guest features from Tory Lanez and Jeremih.  The project also contains an appearance from NY rapper Fabolous, who recently signed the Chicago artist to his joint venture "The Family Music Group" back in March.  Last night, Fabolous also showed up in attendance and presented Josh with a diamond necklace, as a token of their new business partnership.  Meanwhile, the project is expected to drop this summer and we should see a new video in the coming weeks. Up on his feet, after being shot at the end of Season 3, Franklin Saint (Damson Idris) is back on the scene to move more weight in Season 4, but this time, he's in for a rude awakening in South Central. While Franklin was recovering from being shot, his competitors Manboy (Melvin Gregg) and Skully (Deaundre Bonds) have started an all-out war in the streets of LA and now, he has to intervene before things get out of hand, making it bad for business.  In this Season, we also find Franklin still dealing with his connect Teddy, played by Carter Hudson, but this Season he finds out that he really doesn't have his back like he thought, which causes him to make a lot of uneasy decisions on his own. What we do know, Franklin still has the support from his family but he's fallen out with his best friend and right hand for muscle Leon (Isaiah John), which could be bad for him in the streets, when going up against Manboy and Skully.  Let me tell you, Season 4 is packed with excitement

As Covid-19 cases continue to rise, many Chicagoans are still skeptical about taking the vaccine; but not Lori Lightfoot. This past week, the Mayor of Chicago took her first dose of the vaccine to show the City and its residents that it's perfectly safe, in addition informing citizens about its availability.  "I want you to hear it from me: the COVID-19 vaccine is safe. Period," said Mayor Lightfoot. "I'm excited to get it to protect myself and my loved ones from this terrible virus." The Mayor also added reassurance for those who may have doubt or fear about taking the vaccine.  "I know there's some hesitancy out in the community to get it, especially among our Black and Latinx Chicagoans.
