[Video] Rich Gang Performs "Lifestyle" at the Chicago Theatre


Bringing out the streets, Chicago's hip hop radio station Power 92 had the house packed last night (December 26th) for their 2014 X-mas Power Jam. The event took place in downtown at the Chicago Theatre and it featured, no other than, Rich Gang's Birdman, Rich Homie Quan, and Young Thug.

Kicking off the show, Young Thug hit the stage rocking the crowd with some of his club bangers from this past year followed by the crowd favorite, Rich Homie Quan. Later in the show, Birdman touched the stage and joined Rich Homie and Thugger performing some of his Big Tymer classics along with new music from Rich Gang.

Last night, K Michelle stopped in Chicago to host a party at Adrianna's Nightclub and to get the word out about her upcoming album Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart, which is scheduled for December 9th.
  
During her appearance, the R&B songstress also performed two of her hit songs "Can't Raise A Man" and "V.S.O.P." Shortly after her performance, K Michelle took the mic to thank her rebels for their undying support and to share some encouraging words for the ladies; however, one of her male fans wasn't feeling it, he threw ice at the R&B diva as she was leaving the stage. Homeless Rapper SoLoW RedLine Spotted In The Studio Making Inspiration Song, "I'm Good"

 
Last week, homeless rapper SoloW RedLine encountered a life changing experience when a video of him rapping went viral on the internet. Discovered by Co-Still of Wicked Entertainment, SoloW has now gone from rapping on Chicago's subways to being one of the most talked about names in media.
 
Last night, we caught up with the internet sensation on Chicago's Southside at Droked Out Studios. We witnessed SoloW recording a new track called "I'm Good," which is produced by Chicago legend Soundmaster T. The rapper mentioned the song is an inspirational hip hop track to allow people to hear his life-long struggles and let them know how far he's come in his life with the grace of God.

[Video] Common Brings Out Kanye West for Surprise Performance at AAHH Fest


Living up to all the hype, AAHH Fest 2014 served all that and more last night for hip hop fans. Not only did it have an awesome lineup, it also had some pretty big surprises as well. The event took place in Chicago's Union Park and it was presented by Common with Dave Chappelle as host.

Kicking off the main stage, Chicago rapper Lil Herb turnt up the crowd with his opening performance followed by CZA and Jay Electronica. Legendary group De La Soul electrified the stage with their hip hop classics along with veteran rapper MC Lyte, who surprised the crowd by bringing out Lil Mama.

Later in the evening, R&B songstress Jennifer Hudson took the stage and smoothed things out with a powerful vocal performance, singing songs from her past and upcoming album. Hometown rapper Lupe Fiasco turned back up the crowd with his display of genius, spitting rhymes hot like lava.

Closing out the night, Common took center stage, in front of his hometown crowd, performing songs from his two decade career with classic tracks and new joints from his latest album Nobody's Smiling. Before ending the show, Com took to the crowd and thanked them for their undying support and then brought out Twista for a few songs followed by the biggest surprise of the evening, Kanye West.

In support of his second installment of the Free Crack series, Chicago's rising star Lil Bibby covers The Red Eye. In the article, the Chicago rapper talks about his new mixtape, being on XXL Freshmen cover, and his neighborhood, which he speaks on the trouble that's surrounds the streets of Chicago. 
"I don't know what to do about it. I just did a little back-to-school thing and gave away backpacks and supplies for the kids. I'm trying to think of a way to do more, but it's hard, man. People are one-track minded. All they want to do is stay in the same zone. There's no way out of it if you're gangbanging. [Video] Kid Cudi Faints During Concert In Chicago


This past weekend, Kid Cudi gave his fans a scare during his set at the North Coast music festival in Chicago's Union Park. While performing, the rapper stopped for a moment to sign an autograph for a fan and just like that, he passed out. Luckily, security was on site to catch Cudi as he fell. Later, the former G.O.O.D. Music rapper took to Twitter to apologies for what may have caused him to faint.

[Photos] Chicago's Bud Billiken Parade 2014


Gearing up for kids to go back to school on Sept. 2nd, Bud Billiken kicked off its annual parade on Chicago's South Side, this past weekend. The event was filled with bands, floats, food, family fun and it drew thousands in attendance. Chicago's 107.5 WGCI presented three floats in this year's activity and they brought along with them R&B singer Trevor Jackson and Diggy Simmons to perform.

[Video] 'Drake vs Lil Wayne Tour' Hits Chicago


Last night, Lil Wayne and his protege, Drake, stopped in the Chi with one of the hottest concerts of the summer, Drake vs Lil Wayne tour. The show took place at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park and it was packed with thousands of screaming fans, who came to see YMCMB. 

The concept of the show was inspired by the classic Street Fighter video game and it gave fans the opportunity to vote for the 'Best Rap Performance,' between Wayne and Drake, by downloading an app to their phone. Coming in the Chi, Lil Wayne had already beaten his protege twice, winning in Buffalo and Indianapolis; however, last night, Drake would come out victorious with the best show. 

Throughout the night, the Drake vs Lil Wayne show displayed great stage production along with some of the best music in hip hop. Lil Wayne performed a lot of his cutting edge tracks, while Drake went for the more commercial feel for the ladies. Either way, both of these guys put on a great show for the fans.
