Gearing up for kids to go back to school on Sept. 2nd, Bud Billiken kicked off its annual parade on Chicago's South Side, this past weekend. The event was filled with bands, floats, food, family fun and it drew thousands in attendance. Chicago's 107.5 WGCI presented three floats in this year's activity and they brought along with them R&B singer Trevor Jackson and Diggy Simmons to perform.

Last night, Lil Wayne and his protege, Drake, stopped in the Chi with one of the hottest concerts of the summer, Drake vs Lil Wayne tour. The show took place at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park and it was packed with thousands of screaming fans, who came to see YMCMB.
The concept of the show was inspired by the classic Street Fighter video game and it gave fans the opportunity to vote for the 'Best Rap Performance,' between Wayne and Drake, by downloading an app to their phone. Coming in the Chi, Lil Wayne had already beaten his protege twice, winning in Buffalo and Indianapolis; however, last night, Drake would come out victorious with the best show.
Throughout the night, the Drake vs Lil Wayne show displayed great stage production along with some of the best music in hip hop. Lil Wayne performed a lot of his cutting edge tracks, while Drake went for the more commercial feel for the ladies. Either way, both of these guys put on a great show for the fans.

This past weekend, some of the biggest names in music showed up for Lollapalooza weekend-long festival in Chicago's Grant Park. This past Friday, Eminem took the stage and surprised everyone by bringing out Rihanna and on Saturday, Outkast ripped the festival with their historic performance.
Last night, Chance The Rapper collaborated with Lollapalooza and Red Bull for a live stream of his set and during his performance, he brought out his fellow Chicagoan, R Kelly, as a surprise guest. While on stage, Kellz performed snippets of "The World's Greatest," Bump n Grind," and "Ignition (remix)."
Earlier before the show, Chance took to Twitter and teased fans about his upcoming Lolla show.
"Tonight isn't performing for performance's sake. It's a Chicago thing. I love music and touring. But tonight it's for Chicago."R Kelly also took to his Instagram page and let fans know that he would be joining Chance on stage.

This past weekend, some of the biggest names in music made their way to Chicago for Lollapalooza Weekend. Last night (8/2), breakout singer Jhene Aiko performed at Reggie's Rock Club in the City's South Loop and it was packed with a sold-out crowd. Check Jhene's performance after the jump.
Last night, Outkast stopped in Chi-town to close out Day 2 of Lollapalooza in Grant Park. Its been years since Big Boi and Dre performed together in the Chi, but last night, they made up for lost time.
During their set, Outkast performed a long list of their classic hits in front of a packed crowd and 3 Stacks even brought Chicago rapper Nikki Lynette on stage to join him while he performed "Hey Ya."

On yesterday (8/1), Lollapalooza kicked off its three day weekend-long event in Chicago's Grant Park, and closing out the night, Eminem took the stage and surprised everyone by bringing out Rihanna in front of 300-some-odd-thousands in attendance. Still celebrating 20 years of Illmatic, Nas stopped in Chicago last night during Lollapalooza Weekend. During his visit, the rapper teamed up with Hennessy to celebrate and kick off the launch of their new V.S. Limited bottle. The event took place in Downtown Chicago at Shepard Fairy's new pop-up art gallery, Art Alliance: The Provocateurs, and it was packed with hip hop fans and plenty of Henny on deck.
