Chance The Rapper, Common, & Taylor Bennett Set To Perform At All-star Weekend In Chicago

For the first time since 1988, the NBA will host All-star Weekend in the City of Chicago and they're including some hometown heros. According to the NBA's social media account, fans will see special performances from hip hop vet Common, Chance The Rapper, and his little brother Taylor Bennett. It's reported , Common will introduce the All-star roster to the floor before the game, while Chance The Rapper performs the evening's halftime show, singing some of his biggest hits with guests. Taylor Bennett will perform halftime on February 14th at the Rising-Stars Game and he will also serve as an All-star ambassador, with his brother Chance, to engage with fans and other programs. Chance The Rapper Cancels 2020 Tour

Just weeks before hitting the road, Chance The Rapper has decided to cancel dates for the Big Tour and this comes as no surprise for fans. If you remember, back in September, Chance postponed his tour to be with family and judging by his statement he posted this week, this maybe a similar case.  "I know it sucks and its been a lot of back and forth with reschedules and rerouting, but it's for the best. I'm gonna take this time to be with family, make some new music and develop my best show to date," said Chance.  He also went on to say, "I promise to come back much stronger and better in 2020 and hope to see some of you guys there." As of now, fans who purchased tickets should be able to get a full refund.   In the meantime, Chance The Rapper and his Social Works team are scheduled to kick off their annual A Night At The Museum event on Thursday, December. 19th, which is put together to help those in need this Xmas. Chicago Bulls & Zenni Optical Launch "Framing The Future" Initiative For Kids

Just in time for the holidays, the Chicago Bulls and their official sponsor Zenni Optical partners with the Chicago Park District for a new initiative called  Framing The Future, which is a new program put together to provide affordable eye wear and eye protection for Chicago kids in the community. On yesterday, the Bulls and Zenni kicked off the new initiative with a special pep rally. It was held on Chicago's Near West Side, at Fosco Park, and it was packed with hundreds of kids in attendance.  During the event, kids got the opportunity to participate in a lot of cool games, along with receiving a ton of surprises. They even got to witness a live read with Benny The Bull and his new children's book, in addition to hanging out with Shaquille Harrison and Wendell Carter of the Chicago Bulls.  The event turned out to be a great success last night and parents seemed to be very happy to see The Bulls and Zenni giving back.  Afterwards, we caught up with Sean P

Juice WRLD Dies At Age 21

Just when his music career was about to take off, JUICE WRLD has passed away at the young age of 21. According to TMZ , the rapper had just landed into Chicago from a flight out of California and seemed to have suffered from a seizure, while walking through Midway Airport. It's also reported , the rapper - who real name is Jarad Anthony Higgins - was still conscious when he was rushed to the hospital; however, he passed away a short-time afterwards. His cause of death is unclear at this time. We will keep you updated as this story develops... 

SuccezZ Teams Up With Nike For Free Haircuts & "SuccezZful Toy Drive" for Kids

SuccezZ teams up with the good people at Nike to present "CutzZ For The City." The 1 day event was held at SuccezZ in Chicago's South Loop and it was in celebration of the "All For 1 - Chicago" Air Force 1 release, which was inspired by "No Cuts No Glory" barbershop headed by Drew Henderson.  Yesterday, customers poured into SuccezZ, as they gathered into the "CutzZ For The City" event. Not only did they get free haircuts by Shug Sharp, they received courtesy shoe cleaning as well, in addition to plenty of free food and sounds provided by DJ Word and Mustafa Rocks for enjoyment. The "CutzZ For The City" event also kicked off the store's  SuccezZful Toy Drive , which is an new initiative that accepted toy donations to give back to the less fortunate for the Xmas holiday season. Man, I'm telling you this event was big and I definitely gotta take my hat off to SuccezZ and Nike for giving back to the community.

Packed with more laughs and drama, Black Ink Crew is back for Season 6! Last night, VH1 held an exclusive red carpet premiere in Chicago and Ryan Henry, along with the rest of the cast, were in attendance. The event was held at Showplace ICON Theater and it was packed with supporting fans. During the event, we caught up with Ryan Henry and he talked about Black Ink's new season. He also spoke with us about former cast members that are not returning. "Nobody can take your girl you give up," says Ryan, as he laughs.  He also added, "Everybody that grow with you, can't go with you." Next on the red carpet, we spoke with Charmaine and she shared some exciting news. Fresh off the heels of having his ninth consecutive #1 album, Kanye West delivers his latest offering from his Jesus Is King  LP. The new video is called "Follow God" and it's directed by Jake Schreir.  In the video, we see Ye hanging out with his Dad, as they take the ATV for a ride out in the snow. "My dad came to visit me at one of our ranches in Cody, Wyoming. He talked about his love for fishing, and how he would come here in the summers.  It took me 42 years to realize that my dad was my best friend." He asked me, "how many acres is this?" I told him 4000. He replied with these three words: "A black man?" Judging by Kanye's words, he's definitely in a good space right now. Check out the new video below.

Anthony Davis Talks Lebron, D. Rose, & More At Nike's Pop-up Diner "Chicago-Style"

Before playing Chicago Bulls earlier this week, NBA star  Anthony Davis stopped in his hometown to talk with CPS students at the grand finale of Nike's Pop-Up restaurant, "Chicago-Style." During his visit, the Chicago native spoke to students about discipline, staying in school, and what it takes to get your body in shape. He also sat down with local media and spoke about his teammate Lebron James.  In the clips below, we captured our good friend Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson as he talks with Davis about his expectation playing with Lebron and how he defines their chemistry on and off the court.  "I'm surprised that we got a little connection right now," said Davis. The film is director by Alvin Elmore and it's a romantic comedy that's presented and stars Co-still. This past weekend, Co-still held a red carpet movie premiere for the film in his hometown Chicago. The event took place on the City's South Side and it was sold-out the entire night. Dressed in blue and black, Co-still welcomed and greeted all his supporters, as he took pictures on the red carpet. Nike Celebrates Sport Icons With New Pop-Up Diner "Chicago Style"

Nike  continues to push the culture forward. Last year, they transformed an old church in Chicago into a facility  for kids and this year, they turn Lulu's Hot Dogs into a "Chicago-Style" Pop-Up Diner.  Located at 1000 S. Leavitt, this hot spot pays homage to Chicago sport icons and celebrates young leaders that are making a difference across the city with the motto "Sport Changes Everything."  On yesterday, we stopped by the "Chicago-Style" diner, on the Near West Side, and we were very impressed at what we saw.  During our visit, we checked out some awesome sports memorabilia, while eating some really great food. According to his Twitter account, the highly anticipated LP is set to drop on Oct. 25th, which is the same day as his IMAX film release titled the same name. The project was originally set for September 29th but it never seen the light of day; I guess we will have to wait and see on Friday. Juice WRLD Collaborates With McDonald's And Brings "Beat Of My City" Tour To Chicago

As promised,  Juice Wrld  brings free concert series  Beat Of My City tour to his hometown, Chicago. The event took place on Oct. 17th and it was hosted by radio personality Tone Kapone and DJ Oreo.  This initiative was in partnership with McDonald's and it was put together to bring artists back to their hometowns to perform for their fans and give back to the communities that shaped them. During the event, fans walked in the facility, at Vertiport Chicago, feeling good and excited about the evening. They got the chance to take pictures next to cool props, play arcade games, and got free customized t-shirts, in addition to getting free cheeseburgers and fries, compliments of McDonald's. For the past month, Kanye West has been popping up everywhere promoting his upcoming LP  Jesus Is King , as well as, holding exclusive one-off screenings of his new IMAX film titled the same name. Kanye West Appears At Chance The Rapper's Concert And Host Listening Session In Chicago

Kanye West made his way home to Chicago, last night, for a couple of stops. First, he was spotted at the United Center for a surprise appearance at Chance The Rapper's sold out concert and second, he hosted his very own  Jesus Is King Experience, at the Auditorium, to promote his unreleased album.  During his first stop at the UC, the legendary rapper joined Chance onstage to perform "All We Got," which turned out to be a historic moment for hip hop, City of Chicago and all their supporting fans.  Afterwards, Kanye arrived at the Auditorium, with his wife and kids, for his packed house event. Chance The Rapper Shares Rescheduled Dates For "The Big Tour"

It was just weeks ago, Chance The Rapper shocked fans everywhere when he announced that he was postponing his tour to be with family. Now, we hear the tour is back on but this time with new dates. Originally, the tour was set to kick off on September 14, 2019, but now, The Big Tour  will begin in January 2020 and we hear Lil Yachty and Chance's brother Taylor Bennett will be coming on board.   We would also like to mention that Chicago and Miami dates will remain the same but all other dates have been rescheduled. Juice WRLD Partners With McDonald's To Do Free Upcoming Concert In Chicago

Have you had a break today? McDonald's is kicking off a new concert series to bring artists back to their hometown and give back to the community that raise them with a free show. The initiative is called Beat of My City and rapper Juice WRLD has been chosen to perform for his city, Chicago. Juice WRLD broke the news with his followers on social media and here's what he had to say: "Excited to be partnering with @mcdonalds to bring my people in chicago a free live performance. I will also be giving back to my favorite charity through McDonald's. Chance The Rapper Has Postponed "The Big Day" Tour

Five days before he's set to go on tour, Chance The Rapper has postponed in order to spend time with family. The Chicago rapper broke the news today, as he took to social media to share with fans. "I thought it over for the past week and I've decided to push back my tour. This year has been one of the greatest of my life; Marriage, new baby, first album etc. But with it being so eventful it has also been very strenuous having to divide my time and energy between family work." Name someone other than Kanye West that can bring out the Chi for Sunday Service on a rainy day? This morning, Ye stopped in his hometown for a free sold-out show. It was located at Huntington's Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island and it was filled with fans of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds. Throughout the event, the gospel choir kept the crowd on their feet, in high spirit, before the Yeezus rapper made his entrance to perform his song, "Jesus Walk." Chicago's own Chance The Rapper was also in attendance and he added his contribution by performing his verse to Ye's "Ultralight Beam." I'm telling you, Kanye West's Sunday Service  was a great experience and I'm glad I got the chance and opportunity to enjoy it.  UPDATE: After finishing his morning set at Northerly Island, Kanye West took his Sunday Service celebration to Fellowship Church for the afterparty. Meek Mill Performs Free Pre-Game Show In Chicago For Jay Z New Initiative With NFL

Before the NFL's new season kicked off with the Bears and Packers tonight, Philly rapper Meek Mill performed a free concert in Chicago's Grant Park and it was packed with thousands in attendance.  The Pre-game show is part of Jay Z's new partnership with the NFL called Inspire Change, which is an initiative for players and owners of the league to work together to create change in communities across America.  Meek Mill is one of the first advocates of Inspire Change along with Meghan Trainor and Rapsody, who also happened to performed tonight at the event celebration in Chicago's Grant Park.  Take a look at some of our pictures and video of the event below and don't forget your comments.
