NBA & Nike To Honor Kobe And Gianna Bryant On NBA All-Star Uniforms In Chicago


Since the passing of Kobe Bryant hit the News, it's been a hard pill to swallow for NBA fans across the world. The NBA legend was pronounced dead, this past Sunday, when his helicopter crashed in Calabasas, CA killing him, his daughter Gianna, and 7 other passengers who were found on board.

On today, Nike and the NBA released a statement and shared how they will honor the NBA legend.

"The 2020 NBA All-Star uniforms will pay tribute to the late Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and their seven friends and teammates who tragically passed away in last Sunday's helicopter accident. The 2020 NBA All-Star Game will feature Team LeBron (James) wearing the No. 2 and Team Giannis (Antetokounmpo) wearing the No. 24 - Gianna and Kobe's basketball jersey numbers, respectively."

The statement also adds, "both teams will wear jersey patches displaying nine stars, representing those who lost their lives in the crash, including John, Keri and Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah and Payton Chester, Christina Mauser and Ara Zobayan." The players will wear the jerseys during the NBA All-Star Game, which will take place at the United Center in Chicago on Sunday, Feb 16th at 8 p.m. ET.

Meanwhile, Team LeBron and Team Giannis rosters for the NBA All-Star Game will be revealed on TNT in a special 2020 NBA All-Star Draft presented by Jordan Brand show on Feb. 6th at 7 p.m. ET.
